This is my first post in this year 2011. Being the first one, every blogger usually covet and press in with more interesting post but to be sorry I continue with this sick note again.
A very serious and tristful illness that interferes in everyone’s life is depression. Even though I have drawn a similar post earlier, this time I thought of pressing the possible ways for being chary towards the depressive feel and keep smiling everyday! (Read Depressed)
Everyone kvetch and walks through this depression when they feel gloomy or blue which usually continues for a week or even a month or so. This not only affects your day to day life but also it affects the one who takes care of you. It’s a vulnerable pain for the person who is in this disorder and a stressed pain for the one who takes care of him/her. So, this shouldn’t be left as such as this may create a void space which will haunt with more butchery pains. It’s a matter of easy go for the one who is ready to solve it but it won’t be for the one who don’t even ready to think of it. A subtle & rational thinker won’t find it as a big challenge to handle this but for the others it does matters. Some even stilted and mull over that they have this disorder as like “it’s an important characteristic that one should possess”. Before I move further, let me give you some info on this disorder.
Symptoms:
- Loss of interest in day-to-day activities.
- Feelings of guilt or low self-esteem.

- Disturbed sleep
- Irregular eating pattern
- Prolonged feeling of fatigue
- Poor concentration/memory
- Negative thoughts/ being pessimistic
- Narrow minded
- No hope on life
- ‘I wont be happy’ feel
- Refuse to switch your thoughts
Risk factors:
- Unhappy relationships
- Financial problems
- Difficult work atmosphere
- Bereavement
- Likeness towards loneliness
- Unwelcome lifestyle
- Being adamant with your mindset
Remedy:
- Counseling / Seek medical treatment (Don’t feel bad of this! Because, this not only helps you but rather it helps everyone around you.)
- Join meditation group/laughter club/Gym
- Make it a daily practice to do something that will make you happy
- Think of a choice/move forward to have your hope on a choice
- Keep yourself busy by some means
- Stay in touch with all your friends
- Make a surprise/sudden plan everyday (make be a movie/shopping/visiting a new place)
- Keep saying all is well!
And the best practice would be “Always be ready to face the change / create a way for a change”, “Accept the change” and “Keep enjoying the change”! These are the mantras that I would suggest for anyone who are suffering from this hell.
I would like to share a small story which I read a few days back. A boy in an auditorium suddenly cracks a joke at the play that is screening. Most of them who heard it, laughed to the core. But this boy doesn’t stops with it. He again cracked the same joke in the same way that he did before. Now a little lesser people laughed at it. In addition, a petite time later, he beams the same joke again for the third time. Now this time, no one around him laughed at it (I said you na, it’s a small story…
). Point to be taken is, when the people cannot enjoy/laugh for the same joke again & again why do they cuddle with the same sad stories again and again? (Think again!)
If something gives you pain, just try to wash it out by any means and move away. If it’s a mistake and a matter of guilt, you can just try to ignore it because it’s not only you who did this but rather the whole world is doing the same. To bring a positive pull on this, don’t try to replicate this mistake again and that’s highly enough to root out your guilt. One good thing that you can do for yourself and for others around you is to forget the painful past (if any) along with the guilt (if any!), which I think one can make it with above stated practices (Don’t be cozen with this!). Also if you are being avoided by someone, then raise your self esteem and be the first person to avoid them. This helps and fuels your confidence. (Read Self respect)
Life is either a daring adventure or nothing. So, don’t lug yourself with the stink so called ‘nothing’, rather be ready to draw the change!
Even towards the end, what I like to stress is “Don’t take your life so serious, as no one else does! And always think that the best is yet to come!”
Keep smiling and be the reason behind others smiles! You will feel the change…
